Surprisingly I've found the exact opposite on my last 3 JL flights. The cabin has been nice and cool without me even having to ask (one J 787 ORD and two F a350 JFK). Was even able to sleep in the provided PJs which I could never wear before as it was too warm. Not bringing my fan anymore.
