Yea, just to be clear the issue is not that you can't update your passport info at all, the issue is just that you have to wait until the airport when you check-in to do it.

I get that it's frustrating but in the grand scheme this doesn't even register as a blip on the AA IT radar. Emailing executives or filing DOT complaints etc is a waste of time IMO. This is just "one of those things".
