QR flights booked for May which would have been sufficient for Silver / Sapphire - however booked P class (lounge and seat selection via current status). If there is no point crediting to BA now and thus credit to another FFP, let’s say QR, wouldn’t that mean a loss of current OW benefits on the P fare? P fares also only seem to give 40 QPoints, so a far cry away from enough to acquire new status via QR. Thoughts?
This is also my concern here. Am I willing to pay around 300-600 GBP more for the QR R class tickets in order to get 40 more QPoints in the return trip? this does bring down the pounds/Qpoints rate to a lower level.
I do not care too much on the lounge for the intial trips as getting to OWS wil be just 2-3 trips long haul anyway. R class also comes with Lounge.
Alternatively, credit P class to IB is a good choice and IB gives 2 years of OWE. My last night decision is for QR for the following reasons:
1. I mainly do short haul BA Y/J, long haul QR J cash and long haul BA with 241. WIth OWE status eventually, QR will give more avios so I can still keep the AMEX BA card for 241.
2. QR offers double Qpoints from time to time so I want to test the water.
3. I can go to the First lounge at Doha even with a business ticket. I have never been there before so will be good to see
