I'm considering dropping my BA Chase card.
They have BA level of customer service (i.e. really poor) and no actual advantage other than Avios for spend. And unless they got to tier points per dollar spend with no cap, then it's simply a poor choice. I don't see where this delivers value to me.
I'm Gold now, for this year I got to GUF2 level (just) prior to the April changeover, so I'm Gold until 2026. My intention now, based on these changes, is to move and stop spending money on BA. Except to burn down my Avios. Sad, we're planning a big family trip in 2026 US->GCI and that now has opened the potential airlines beyond just BA.
Most of my TP earning was due to business trips IAD-DUB. Company pays economy only, so I've been booking F or J on my own dime (usually cash + avios) to get the tier points. That's kept me at BA Gold for something like 7 years. That's no longer going to be possible, apparently.
BA just told me to go away, so I'm taking that hint. Maybe time to move to focus on Star (I'm *A Gold even though I've avoided UA travel where possible), or perhaps move my earning to AS.
