I had to buy an alternate flight at a much higher cost and my money is stuck with Air Canada. Faced a lot of stress and loss of money due to booking an expensive alternate flight.
With this being your first post, welcome to FT!
It’s not really clear how you bought these miles and what you’re talking about when it comes to the valuation. You say you bought 70,000 miles, worth $700. Did you pay $700 for 70,000 miles? If so, you definitely didn’t buy these from Air Canada, as they would charge you significantly more than that. Fraud may well have been involved.
Or are you saying that you bought them for some other amount that you haven’t mentioned, yet you believe they are worth $700? In this case why would you buy them for more than you think they are worth? For what it’s worth most people would value 70,000 points at much more than $700.
