bumping this thread. We are doing a 10-12 days in Bavaria in early October then moving on to Salzburg. We are looking at basing in Munich (or near-in suburb after a few days in central city) and found the Bayern ticket but today stumbled across the Deutschland-Ticket. It looks like it would be good for travel all around just like Bayern ticket. We think we will do a day trip Nuremberg, Regensburg etc. Just started planning but the Deutschland ticket looks good (and gets us to Salzburg). I know no ICE, that we need to cancel by the 10th of the month. But is this really as great a deal as it seems? We are low key slow vacationers so no need for high speed trains. 2025 price is EUR58 for the month versus the daily tickets and looks like a great deal.
