Same position here. There was a heavy incentive to go from GLA > ACE via LGW , especially so with the generous double TP from BAH. Now there is very very little. I can't justify the connection at LGW nor can I justify the transfer to LHR (or hotel at LGW) on the return. And that is before I even begin to evaluate the hard product!
Funnily enough, it was exactly the same route we were contemplating for this April. In the old scheme, CE via LGW was just about justifiable, with the healthy dose of TPs to go with it. But now, £500 per person on Jet2 or Tui direct from GLA to ACE versus £1100 on BA via LGW (plus extra for an overnight in LGW) has become a no brainer.
