We plan to fly to Asia in a few months, as we do each year. It'll most likely be on Cathay and rather than throw the points in the bin (credit them to BA) I'll probably open and credit to Iberia's scheme. They may well still not amount to anything, but it's closer to Bronze equivalent than I'll ever get going forward with BA.

A few months ago, SAS Eurobonus (SkyTeam) did a status match and I'm Elite Plus (matched from BA Silver). I've not flown SAS but it's useful on KLM flights.
