I started my career in 2007. I began travelling for work in 2010, and became BA Bronze in 2014, Silver in 2017, Gold in 2022.

I might be able to requalify for BA Silver going forward. I’m currently waiting to see where things net out, to see if that is wise or not.

Over the last few years, I’ve focused work travel (60%, on Y+ fares) on BA, and diverted much of my discretionary leisure travel on BA (mostly on J fares). I was mulling a BAH for April - an indirect flight via LGW was £1200 more than a direct flight from my home airport, but (pre- new tier points) would have netted 480 TPs - almost 33% of Gold in the old scheme. Recent changes mean that spend has been diverted to a charter.

BA has now slipped from the default carrier for both work and personal travel, to an “also ran” when looking at routes.

It’s quite liberating. I’m forced to ask, if like me, you have found yourself freed of the handcuffs of status, why immediately look to chain yourself to another master? Now is the perfect time to look at all the options out there, try them, and even consider life as a status nomad, rather than jumping straight in to another FFP.
Same position here. There was a heavy incentive to go from GLA > ACE via LGW , especially so with the generous double TP from BAH. Now there is very very little. I can't justify the connection at LGW nor can I justify the transfer to LHR (or hotel at LGW) on the return. And that is before I even begin to evaluate the hard product!
