Amex Plat IAP is also an OTA - Expedia essentially. You do get 5x though and they issue a ticket where the fare is posted vs. an IT opaque fare which can make a difference when earning miles.

With any OTA offering bulk fares - they come with strings attached - Amex travel does not have these strings, but you still need to deal with them and their incompetence when something goes south
