Former Delta Diamond and moved over to BA as moved back to London last year. I'm planning to leave the UK again eventually, but currently, my flying is US (via BA/AA) and Asia (via QR). I digress, here's the dilemma.
Current TPs would get me well over the BA requirements, but could also get me to 319 QPoints aka Gold (aka OWS) on Qatar. Who would you credit this to? BA, QR or is there someone else I should try? Can anyone calculate roughly what I'd get on AY? The first trip is in three days so need to decide pronto! Thanks!
I have a QR card but it’s not used other than for discount codes and I credit mileage to BA. I like you am looking to switch to QR as I fly the majority of travel with them rather than BA and think it may be easier to maintain status there. Looking at the Qpoints, 150 are required to get to Silver or OWR and then another 300 to get to Gold or OWS. So as a newbie starting out you need 450 in year one to get meaningful status and then to retain you just need 270 a year. I can manage 300 no problem and 270 a year to retain but if I need 450 to go from nothing to Gold or OWS, I would be well short.
Am I misreading anything or can I do it in 300 only? I think I may scrape Silver in the new BA Club but only gets me a 6 month extension to what I have anyway. I don’t want to start crediting to QR straight away if I end up losing status in both.
Thanks for any input.
