They have lots of different food in the stations and you can also order in the railway app from some of the outlets to be delivered from the intermediate stations to be brought to you right to the train seat (KFC at many stations does it for example). Unile the west, the prices are reasonable (its either a law, or just a custom that chains have the same prices in airports/rail stations as their stores in town).
Lounges typically are nothing to write home about indeed, but they help to skip the queues because there is normally a separate entrance and when the time comes, the agent escorts you right to the train door.
