According to a Mexico Insider blog, dated December 5, 2024, the closure was in 2020 and it is open again; according to a post in The Not so Innocent Abroad blog, dated March 2023, entrance fees were imposed when it reopened. As I wrote above, it was open when we visited in April of this year and I can confirm that we had to pay to enter the site.
