TimeSlot Security

Manchester Airport’s has introduced a new TimeSlot service. This offers passengers the ability to pre-book a specific time to go through security. Passengers can now select a time that works best for their flight annd avoid long queues. Each TimeSlot has a limited number of places to ensure a smooth flow through security. The service is available at Terminal 3, with time slots between 04:00 - 18:00 and in Terminal 2 between: 03:30 - 07:30 and 11:30 - 15:00.

Why Use TimeSlot?

You wouldn’t if you have access to Fast Track through status or class of travel. By pre-booking a time to enter security, passengers can skip potentially long lines, saving time over using the regular security lanes.

Availability and Booking Process

To book a TimeSlot visit the airport’s booking page, you can select a time based on your flight details and party size. Bookings can be made up to seven days in advance, with available slots tailored to the flight schedule around your flight time. If no suitable times are available, passengers use the standard security lanes or purchase Fast Track access.

Eligibility and Restrictions

TimeSlot is available to all passengers flying from Terminal 3, it is not suitable for those requiring assistance or traveling with young children or large items like car seats. These passengers are directed to the Assistance Lane.

TimeSlot vs. FastTrack

TimeSlot is a free service (though charges may apply during peak times) available only at Terminal 3. It provides a fixed 15-minute window for passengers to go through security, allowing them to bypass the regular queue. In contrast, Fast Track is available at all terminals allowing passengers to enter the express lane anytime up to three hours before departure, but does not offer the fixed time advantage of TimeSlot.

How to Book and What Information is Needed

To book a TimeSlot, passengers must enter their flight details, including departure date, destination, and flight number. They’ll also need to provide the number of people in their group and an email address for booking confirmation. The process is simple and ensures that passengers can reserve a convenient time for their security check. There will be a 15 minute grace period, meaning you will only be able to enter the express lane within 15 minutes of your allotted time.

Cost of TimeSlot

While TimeSlot is generally free, there may be charges during peak times. The service can be booked up to seven days in advance, with the cost varying depending on availability and demand.
