A kind GS member waitlisted me for an Polaris pluspoints upgrade. My travel agent (Chase) then made a minor modification to the itinerary to remove an old/ inactive segment and the waitlisted upgrades disappeared. I contacted UA and they were able to reinstate the instrument but now I am waitlisted with PZ priority instead of PN. The agent is insistent that PN is "sold out" and they can only put me back on PZ waitlist. All of this happened within a couple of hours.
Does this make any sense? Both PZ=0 and PN=0 when the ticket was booked and also when the PP upgrade was originally applied. Should I not be reinstated with PN now? I am just a lowly Gold by the way.
