IAD on the other hand, to me, is the easiest I-D connection point. I get your losing 90 minutes at home... but the transfer is so easy, you stay in the same terminal. The only downside is if you're DEN flight is all the way in the high D gates, it can be a bit of walk, but not too bad.
Remember that at EWR/C, GS can enter the pre-check line and tell the contract guard you're GS. They'll open the barrier and put you directly at the ID checiker. It's almost always faster than Clear.
