When visiting SE Asia, I often return home via TPE because I can get upgraded on UA. Because it is a morning flight, I typically spend the night in Taipei. I've done this quite a few times in the past but due to some poor planning, I will be here during chinese new year.

I will arrive (28Jan) afternoon and check into my hotel near the Taipei main station.

Then, I typically go to various night market (ie. Raohe, Linjiang, etc) stalls and fast food restaurants to eat (ie. 刈包).

In the morning, I stop at a stall for a 飯糰 before heading to the airport. (in the past, it has been 青島飯糰 or 劉家飯糰 because it is near my hotel)

Will all these places be closed due to the holiday?
