I don't blame you.

Yes.
I have to say I have enjoyed my time on the BA forum at Flyertalk. I gained a lot of knowledge that allowed me to optimise what I got for my meagre spend, achieving gold for the first time this year. I will be upset if I don't soft land to silver from that, but no biggie, in the future I will probably just be paying less money to fly in premium classes on other airlines or less money to fly economy on LCC.
There's not a lot left now that FT can give me other than help and direction for problems on my remaining BA flying. There will be some as I have a stash of Avios to get rid of. And not a lot I can offer to help others, as the things of interest that I knew are now mostly redundant.
When I travelled for work I mostly got Silver. The same travel now would probably not quite get me Bronze. As it was all economy the silver was a big benefit to get lounge access on frequent cheaper flights.
Now I only travel for leasure. After covid, with the introduction of BAH double teir points etc a lot of leasure travellers sort of kept BA afloat as business travel dropped off a cliff. They have obviously decided to prioritise the cost insensitive business travellers. That seems odd to me because those folks didn't really need the benefits of status anyway.
Business travel won't be coming back in the same way. The enforced use of Video conferencing has got people used to that and many types of trip that happened before just aren't neccessary any more. Many of the soft skills still need boots on the ground so you can 'look someone in the eye' and convince them or read them in a way that is impossible remotely. It's also neccessary if you need to physically review plant\arrangements\engineering etc.
So I expect this to have a negative impact overall for the airline. We have seen the numbers, we know how much they make from leasure travellers overall and I can't see how that isn't going to decrease. But having met some leasure CE pax, not all of them care about status by any means. So perhaps this is all about getting rid of all price sensitive customers in both business and leasure. I am definitely price sensitive and without any real chance of even Bronze now and given BA is pretty much never the cheapest option to get anywhere from MAN BHX I think that's me done with giving BA any money. Folks like me are over-represented on this board, so maybe we just aren't as prevelant as we think we are and really don't matter to BA.
