I just requalified for Gold on Saturday, and come Monday… Never a dull moment! I’ve read all the posts in the other thread and I feel for them. We already went through this stateside. I’m new to BA status so I don’t have any of the emotion. I don’t love connecting through LHR, or AA frankly, but I like the domestic lounge access and priority check-in, and MCE backup if in coach.

I spend around £7k on mostly US domestic first class fares (AA/AS) and a few WTP US-EUR flights per year. I usually pay out of pocket to upfare the US flights for more TPs, so… I guess I have to decide if it’s worth artificially inflating spend by about £2-3k for Silver instead of Gold going forward. With a new job that will likely require a bit more travel, my out of pocket costs may go down.

Additionally if soft landings are still in play, and/or with BAs parental leave benefit, 2027 is the earliest I will need to decide.
