Iberia has been doing very well for IAG. This is not the IB of the euro-crisis plagued 2010s. They earn decent revenues and have got terrific load factors.
In other words, nowadays IB's business is strong enough to move in the same direction as BA.
So I gotta agree with previous posters. IB will follow sooner rather than later. There is no need for IAG to leave open arbitrage opportunities. Talking about arbitrage, I bet their JV partner AA has been pulling them in the direction of a spend-based program for some time.
As for the thread's central question: I'm strongly considering RJ as I do a bunch of short/mid haul travel.
