One interesting bit of the process could be Delta and Amex mining this year's data to see how many changed their spending habits to put $75k on the card to get unlimited SC access, and balancing that against the money they'd make off a new credit card with a higher annual fee.
I agree, and I know I dropped my spend on DL reserve considerably. 75k for unlimited SC is not much of an incentive. Before, when I was getting MQMs and Sky Miles, it was worth it. Now, I pay my fees, use the card only when I buy DL flights, and that is about it. It is easier to use Sky Miles for a personal unlimited SC since the family will not visit 15 times. Then I use a Venture X that has a priority pass, which I am using more and more.
