Living in Scottsdale, we visit Sedona quite frequently and my go-to is always the Element in the Village of Oak Creek. Admittedly, I haven't stayed at any of the other Marriott properties. That said, my thoughts -
- Clean, modern rooms - typical Element hard product - some rooms have balconies (albeit, overlooking the parking lot and a neighboring self-storage facility) - only gripe is water pressure has been hit and miss in my rooms
- Outdoor pool and hot tub are great - lots of seating, spacious pool deck, and the pool is heated to a comfortable temperature year-round (we were surprised to be able to swim on a cool winter evening a few years back - the water was easily heated into the mid-80s while it was barely pushing 50 outside)
- Outdoor patio with two gas barbeques for guest use, fire pits, and small lobby bar with evening service - grocery store for convenient shopping right across the street
- Breakfast is equal to or better than the typical Element fare in my opinion - always well-staffed and well-stocked
- Location away from the hustle of Sedona proper is a benefit in my opinion - and there are a number of great restaurants in Oak Creek (a few literally in the same parking lot as the Element - Tortas de Fuego, Butterfly Burger, Pisa Lisa)
- Proximity to a number of excellent hiking trails
- Staff throughout is generally great, but Front Desk can sometimes be slow - the check-in process for such a straight-forward hotel seems to take so long, and they make you do a full formal check-in even with mobile key/mobile check-in
