+ I see some people are aghast that their 2500 spend isn’t going to give them gold anymore; sorry, but you’re not profitable customers (and you’re not the marginal customer either)

I remember back in the 90s and early 2000s, BA Gold was super elusive (at least from a teenager in the 90s). I think they’re just taking it back there, and if one will be a gold going forward, it will be nice.

I’d have had some years where I’d easily have made gold on these rates, but as a mainly leisure traveller these days cannot do two programmes for the little work travel I have. I’d be ok with this but don’t have skin in the game.

I’m curious to know what happens with the corporate contracts where eg someone pays x due to corporate discount however actual cost is y, and at which point they get credited. Previously people seem to have said y mattered when calculating CIV.
Get what you’re saying here. I’ll be perfectly honest, I think it was crazy that I was able to nearly make Gold from 1 First Class round trip to Thailand on QR using the double TP promo and reduced thresholds of Covid. It cost me just over £3,000.

BUT… Even at that spend, I really didn’t think the benefits were that mind blowing and never went out of my way to achieve it again. Infact, I done the opposite and let my TP’s run down.
