Its ironic - for years BA was able to get away with offering an increasingly poor service to passengers, knowing that many of us flew with them as BAEC members because we wanted the points and to earn status. Now they've (literally) taken the golden handcuffs off, they're going to find plenty of people who put up with a lot of poor experiences walking to other carriers, as they no longer feel obligated to fly BA for the TP.
I just got off the BA plane on intra-Europe flight, thinking my Norwegian flight was far superior despite not having any priorities.
Being based in Asia, I would not have travelled on BA at all if not for satisfying the 4 eligible flight requirement.
Funny enough while today is the first time I achieve Silver, this marks the end of my BAEC journey. I shall enjoy my one year OWS on other Oneworld carriers.
