It's a bit laughable if BA thinks that way. If LHR-LAX is served by a VS A350 with a way better ground experience; or even UA with its plush Polaris cabin and access to the Polaris lounge, BA would be silly to think I'll go for their pithy offerings for the same price.
I’m with you - my 2 LAX J bookings this year are with BA but only because it is half that price from DUB and there was no good fare with VS, otherwise I would have booked with them.
