Thing is, the American economy is in a much better state than the British one, and Americans in general have way more disposable income to spare. The US have only three majors (if you don't count WS/B6/AS) in a huge geographical area that helps the business case too and there will always be way more people to tap way more money from in an American economy than in a British one.

Bringing spend-based status across the pond to the Europeans sounds like it'll have the same effect as in America, but I don't believe it will go the way BA has intended.

Unless their raison d'etre is actually to thin out the American crowd, which ends up affecting everyone as well
