As for value seeking travellers clogging up seats, I'm deeply skeptical about this. The most recent time I flew F. I was the only passenger booked in for that flight one way, and there were 2 the other way. 4 people got last minute upgrades. I don't think they will fill the front of the plane as well as they do, at the prices they currently do without leisure customers who are inherently more price sensitive and the best way around that to 'boost' revenue is to give people a reason to book premium seats when they otherwise wont. There were tons of J flights I made in the past year that I would not have made in J if the tier points didn't incentivise me, and while this is not the case for most customers, it's certainly the case for a large enough group of enthusiasts.

Honestly whilst I think revenue based model is here to stay, I foresee BA making tweaks in a year or so, once they fully understand its impact. It won't surprise me if they half the TP requirements per level and to be fair, it's probably better to start high and cut them than to start too low and then raise them within a year.
I suspect they want a big reduction by 2026 and then will build it up numbers wise over the next 3 to 4 years .
