Reflecting on this more, the credit card tier point earning just feels out of whack with the whole direction of revenue-based earning being mainly a US invention and mainly about credit card economics. I think that if they were to set it to 10,000-12,500 tier points available from AMEX PP in return for a decent spend (say £50K), they'd be able to both drive tons of credit card spend but also paid tickets on BA. 2,500 is just a distraction.
Definitely not CX. I've been CX DM for years before switching to BA. Points on non-CX carriers are much lower and CX fares are way higher in general than EU ones.
