I feel an easier solution would have been just to increase the points required for each tier, rather than dropping this out of blue on many of BA’s most loyal customers.

I am fortunate enough to be able to renew gold under the new system, however currently once I have earned my GUF2 I will fly KLM to break up the BA flying a bit. I need to ask myself realistically if I can justify the spend as someone who books flight only usually J or F.
