In a warped sort of way, this is welcome news. My husband and I have been humming and hawing about booking a GLA-LGW-ACE BA Holiday booking for April while double TPs are still available, to bag 480 TPs each.

We were both long-term silvers who had slipped to gold these past couple of years, and those 480 TPs together with other leisure trips and work travel would have extended gold for us for another year. Except it was £2200 total for in direct flights, needing an overnight at Gatwick.

This announcement has convinced us to go the direct route on Jet2 or Tui, priced at £1000 for the two of us, saving us £1200. Quite a result!
