No. It's part of flying that luggage may be delayed and you would have been entitled to buy any essentials required until it was delivered, even though Iberia might baulk at paying these too.

If presents were that important that their absence "ruined" the day then perhaps you should have built a little more padding into the delivery, or hand carried them if practical.
