I’ve status matched from United and as a 1K had the chance to bring on board family members who were in lower boarding groups. Overhead storage can be scarce on the UA flights I take, so early boarding is helpful for securing them.

I’m a MVP 75k and my wife is MVP through her work. My sons have no status on Alaska.
Still can board with higher order. I am PRI and my companions on same PNR might be B and they join me no problem. It might be pushing my luck - but yesterday we were a party of 5 with three PRI assignments and two B assignments. I just got a copy of all the passes and told the gate agent there are five of us and started with the PRI ones.
