You don't need to do anything between now and March, just get 1500 points between 1st April and when your Gold membership expires at end Jan2026 . Doesn't seem , based on what you described. to be any issue at all to renew Gold without any need to try and waste GBP2000. Worst case, you might have to endure a very brief period of Silver status
If it was that Dave I would be fine.

But my BA account is now asking for 560TP between now and March 31st, which is 37% of my annual TP earnings.

Between Dec 8 2023 to Dec 2024 I earned 1780TP - no pattern just as the trips came in.

Requalify for Gold Dec 9th. App say my new collection year is now March 2025 and I have to hit 560TP.
