We are planning to drop off our luggage at the EDITION and going to the other hotel with a small carryon. So even if metro is needed that should be fine.

There are a couple of courtyard by marriotts close by.
I'm not sure why if you were dropping off bags at the edition you would not already check in ( is it availability or cost for that night?) as moving hotels does take some time due to check out check in
are you arriving in tokyo by plane or train? as there are some hotels close to haneda or narita airport
