I have Shangai's T union card loaded in my watch and phone (both are Xiaomi) and it works almost everywhere in China and is reloaded by Alipay in the app. It's a bit easier then the already easy payment by Alipay/Weixin.

As I remember the plastic T union cards can be used almost everywhere, but have to be topped up in the issuing city (but I might be wrong).
