That assumes you fly economy TATL or TPAC (no thanks). But yes the E+ fees add up, even for North America travel.
Still, $1500 seems a bit rich for Plat, you’re still stuck in Group 1 boarding which sucks at SFO. I’d pass unless you know you will have a lot of family travel on UA
