The only *A EU Airbus flights I've been on have been single cabin aircraft so not sure that that's an apples-to-apples with UA's F seat (but for the record, I have not had an issue with fitting my bag under *any* other seat, UA or *A - just new F on the A321 and marginally new F on the 7M8/9
