I did a bunch of research, and it looks like it was a parking lot, at least for a while... But I'm not 100% certain. Perhaps someone who lives there will have more info.

The project has been majorly delayed. The project was originally supposed to be complete in 3Q 2023...

It will be a Tru / Home2 Suites, sharing a common lobby, check-in, fitness, etc. Could be handy for those who want to mattress run.
