The maximum through-check time is now 16:30. See the MIA thread here. I can attest to at least 14 hours, as last year's STL-MIA-SXM trip was an overnight connection of 14 hours, and they through-checked our luggage. It was a surprise, as we were used to the old limit. We'll have a change of clothes in our carryon this year.
