Stayed in several Marriott properties in Bali over the past couple of weeks and wanted to share my thoughts.
3 nights Fairfield by Marriott South Kuta
Fine property, the first stay I was upgraded to the Jr Suite from base room. Good breakfast. On the second stay booked the Jr Suite and had some issues with welcome amenity but overall good.
1 night Sthala Ubud
Alright stay, view upgrade. Had an issue with them saying I could bring my laundry late and then saying it wasn't possible. Breakfast is good but the restaurant itself cannot do any customizations and was meh. Great massage here.
2 nights Aloft Seminyak
Booked the loft suite for the first night and base room the second (forced to add a second night due to partying) and was upgraded to a pool access king. Breakfast here was OUTSTANDING. They were even cooking custom breakfasts by the second breakfast. Great drinks, good location. I liked this one a lot.
1 night Four Points by Sheraton Ungasan
Alright stay. I was told I had a welcome drink and given a voucher for it. The voucher said nothing about alcohol free drinks and I wasn't told about it. Tried using it to pay for a cocktail and was told it wasn't possible. The manager on duty and I had to go back and forth before he finally agreed to waive the charge. Decent restaurant and okay breakfast. Didn't like that the staff waived a charge at breakfast for a soda (without me asking) and solicited a tip because of it. Decent massage, nice pool and an insanely good rate at $40.
I also stayed at LXR, Conrad, and Allla Uluwatu and LOVED all of them. Will be posted individual reviews to those.
