Stayed at CP Kochi for a night last week and I won’t hesitate to return.
Rooms are fairly big, was upgraded to one of the premium rooms (don’t remember which) as a diamond even though the hotel appeared full.
Breakfast was great but got noisy later when it appeared like dozens turned up at the same time. The hotel even advises you formally to arrive early for breakfast.
The experience was slightly marred by a third party airport pickup arranged by the hotel. The driver refused to wait at the arrivals and insisted we drag the luggage to the airport car park. Hotel staff apologised and mentioned all their drivers had been busy.
Very glad your stay mirrors my experience. I'm increasingly wary of recommending locations as when they go wrong then you feel an element of responsibility. But CP Kochi and IC Chennai were so very good that it felt only correct to say so.
100% agree on breakfast and yes for sure they make genuine efforts to manage and set expectations. They even have the traffic light system in the lifts. The breakfast quality was very very good and I sort of enjoy the hustle and bustle.
The hotel cars (both CP Kochi and IC Chennai) and drivers are absolutely first class. And they were amazing value as well. For sure, insist on the real deal direct hotel drivers and cars.
