They offered the spread between the rooms priced at the member rate. This has been mentioned by others upthread as how their upgrade offers were priced as well.
Either the property changes the pricing method based on season or they offer discounted pricing to some Globalists but not to others. Either way the whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I would have been fine paying $350/night for OWV if they had offered that price the first time I asked. Feels like they tried to screw me.
Wow, that's a big spread. I've never gone in high season so i didn't realize the spread got to 750/night.
I do think the discounting is odd, moreso than the hawking. It's like they realized they overpriced their inventory so they're trying to squeeze more money out of Globs to make up for it. I'm also not sure I buy the "last unit" bit.
Hopefully your stay is not too marred by the upsell.
