i'm a lowly "explorist". Just redeamed a 7 day Beach villa at Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa for end Feb 2025 and pinged the hotel for an upgrade. Below is what i got

Redeamed: 35K * 7 = 245000 points for the standard beach villa.

Over Water Sunset Pool Villa - Upgrade Supplement- USD 450 plus taxes of 27.6%, total USD 574.2 per night. So 4019.4 USD additional top up on top of the 245,000 points.

7 Day Overwater Sunset Pool Villa for the same trip is 12,288.34 USD. The cash topup w/ points doesn't seem as good a value for say Bonvoy. Thoughts? Are there opportunities to negotiate?

Any tips/advice is much appreciated.
