My home airport is FRA which means I fly LH a lot, but I managed to keep A3 status:
- P class intercontinental is earning on OS and LX, so I always choose those and never LH (I am making an exception for 2024 to fly with the 747 likely for the last time)
- Intra Europe you are usually screwed in Economy except some case I am lucky and get 500 miles.
But I fly A3 4-6 times a year meaning the threshold to renew Gold is low: my A3 fights plus a return to Asia in P Class on LX/OS is enough usually. But then sure I do not earn a lot of miles for award, but enough to get a one way award to Asia in business nearly every year.
You can manage depending on flying patterns. This year will be easy to renew with a P Class one way on LX and a return Z class on NH (200% miles flown awarded).
But Lufthansa are just treating every FFP with disdain and are a bad company in general. Their own FFP is crap.
