What do you mean encripted? 3M has a very good privacy filter that sits over the screen and prevents anyone from seeing the screen unless they are sitting right behind it. If you are worried about the wireless radio being on, there will likely be an icon in your system tray that will allow you to turn it off when you want. Dell sold me an airplane adapter specifically for my laptop.
