I have another one of those… AC 808 from YYZ to AMS on Dec 22 was delayed by more than 3 hours due to an incoming plane. The incoming plane was AC2 which was delayed because AC1 departing YYZ more than 28h before it was scheduled to serve AC 808 was significantly delayed. Air Canada claims a technical issue and refuses compensation because the issue was not in their control. This is starting to get ridiculous. Was you suggested canadiancow , AC tries to claim that basically nothing is within their control.

At least they will be on the hook for AC 809 because of EU regulation and EU courts will not allow AC to argue themselves out of this situation. I hope lots of people make use of their legal right though all statistics point in a different direction…
