MIA-LAS is not a typical domestic AA route where you can expect a widebody. Typically the only time you'll see AA put a widebody on MIA-LAS is during a few select days/weeks during very high demand, like Xmas/New Years and maybe a few days during big shows like CES.
When are your travel dates? For MIA-LAS it's not weird at all to see a 777 one day but not the next.
