One more thing. They allow the coach passengers to dump their luggage in the business class compartment. When we boarded fairly early, there was no room in the overhead bins for our small carry ons. The flight attendant said we don't own the overheads in business class and I can go in the back to stow my bag. I asked why creat unecessary chaos. Did she ever see passengers in Business Class fight the passengers trying to get their bags at the same time coach is trying to exit the plane. It makes no sense.
I fly Icelandair Business Class (Saga) and find it fine, especially given the pricing. I knew before I booked the seats were not lay flat, though so I never had an expectation of this. I like the gin menu
and find the food as good as any airplane food (except manybe Turkishair!). It is about expectations. The proper comparison is not to First Class on a U.S. based airline but to premium economy. I like having the stop in KEF, even though it can be hectic at times. It's a nice break in the middle of the long flights and the airport is clean.
I'm sorry they misinformed you about the seating.
