Yes, we are talking about the DXB-IST leg, but you don't pass through the J/C transfer security checks at the main transfer point if you select/go through the short connection transfer security point. In the same way, if you walk to the main transfer/connection point, you don't go through one of the short connection transfer points. One rules out the other.
