I understand that we will not have to undergo security screening again at IST on our outward journey to DXB so this may save some time, but unclear if the same applies for the return from DXB? I saw mention of a dedicated J class transfer connection - is this separate from the short connection transfer points mentioned?
To my knowledge DXB is not considered a "clean" origin, i.e. you will not be able to proceed directly from the aero bridge to the departures level (after TK staff checking your onward BP) but you have to proceed through transfer security checks.
The dedicated C/J/Star Alliance Gold lane is at the main transfer security checks. The short connection transfer points are different/much smaller and do not have any dedicated lanes; really not needed as there is hardly any lines there in my experience. By all means use the short connection transfer point as you are eligible with 1h15min connection time. Most likely you will make it with amble time.
